About the Principal of Aspiring Leadership

Shelley McClure, ECE, BGS, CAM, MA, CEC is the Principal of Aspiring Leadership. On any given day, Shelley works with a network of highly skilled, independent associates with a background in education, coaching, youth development, organizational development and policy implementation.

Shelley holds a Certification in Early Childhood Education from Langara College, a Bachelor of General studies with a major in Education and a minor in Management and a Certificate in Advanced Management from Thompson Rivers University-Open Learning, a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training and a Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University. She actively pursues studies in communication, coaching, leadership and regulatory practice. Shelley is a life-long learner who is currently a doctorate student at the University of Athabasca studying a Doctorate of Education in Distributed Learning, specializing in leadership for young women.

Shelley enhances people's ability to set and achieve goals, lead from where they stand and think in ways that create success. Specializing in one-on-one coaching and small group facilitation, Shelley is an engaging presenter and inspiring educator. With twenty-five years in the field of education and fourteen years in regulatory practice, Shelley supports individuals to stretch outside their comfort zone for positive growth and performance. Drawing on her professional skills as an educator, facilitator and coach, Shelley invites individuals to engage, set and achieve goals through intentional listening, powerful questioning, insightful feedback, commitment to action and genuine enthusiasm.

Shelley's area of concentration is personal mastery acquisition and propelling female youth and woman in leadership. Her passion is facilitating interventions enabling individuals to find their voice and excel.

Shelley's master's thesis was on personal mastery development in licensing officers from the Community Care Facility Licensing program in Vancouver Island Health Authority.
